Janaki Kumar is a design executive with a history of building outstanding teams, fostering a customer-focused culture of excellence, and delivering impactful products.

As Head of Design at JP Morgan Chase’s Commercial Bank, she and her team combine Fintech and Proptech with best-in-class user experience to delight customers. Her mission is to humanize financial services by re-imagining the end-to-end customer experience, and to spark a culture of innovation at the bank.

Prior to JP Morgan Chase, Janaki was the head of the Design and Co-Innovation Center at SAP Labs, Palo Alto, where she delivered award-winning products and services that help businesses transform the way they work. She enjoys building, coaching and inspiring high-performance design teams, leveraging design-thinking, customer empathy, and co-innovation.

Janaki was named a Women of Influence by the Silicon Valley Business Journal (2016). She co-authored the book Gamification at Work – Designing Engaging Business Software. She was a speaker at a TEDx conference and a co-instructor at Stanford’s Graduate School Business LEAD course on Customer Experience Design: A Neuroscience Perspective. She is an inventor on over 20 patents. She has a Masters in Information Systems from Boston University, and attended the Executive Leadership Program at Stanford University.
